This includes sweaters, vests, t-shirts, skirts, and socks, and leggings and I’m sure going to be masks, this year!  :) I have jumped off a 50ft cliff into the ocean on the southernmost tip in Hawaii ( on Oahu) and I went indoor skydiving!

Experience: I have taught at Kuumba Academy for 9 years! I taught 1st and 2nd grade for rive years and now have shifted to a math focus, providing small group math intervention and teaching 5th and 6th grade math.

Experience: Mrs. Heeman has spent twelve years teaching. She has taught in NYC, Maryland, and Delaware. She has taught everything from preschool to eighth grade, and mostly worked with the special education population in each position. This is her 4th year working as a special education coordinator for Kuumba.
Fun Fact: Outside of working with students and families, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family, including her two boys and her two dogs.

Experience: Ms. Crofton has been working at Kuumba for 10 years. She was formerly Ms. Samra, and has worked with grades 2, 3, 4, and 5. This year she will be working as 2nd grade math special education teacher and math interventionist for K-5.

Education: Mr. Terrone V. Warren is a long time resident of the city of Wilmington. Graduating from Glasgow High School and Delaware State University. 
Experience: Mr. Warren is the owner of Black Visionary Designs (BVD) Barber Salon located downtown Wilmington, Delaware serving the tri-state area. Mr. Warren is very involved in our community sponsoring for the past nine years the annual "coat and jacket" giveaway, "shoe and sneaker" giveaway, "Unity Community Day" and holiday turkey drives. Terrone has a passion for working with and supporting our youth by tutoring not only in math, but whatever subjects they may need assistance with. Keeping our community children busy and focused Terrone has formed a "Chess on the Square" which has resulted in positive energy with many neighborhood children.

Fun Fact: Ms. Picara is working on becoming fluent in Spanish and loves learning salsa, African, and hip hop dances. She has played the piano since 1984 and performs as a singer-songwriter. Ms. Picara often travels solo and in the last year has visited Colombia, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.
