Summer Program

Greetings Kuumba Families,

I would like to take this time to introduce myself, my name is Dr. Maureen Masters and I am the Outside of School Time (OST) Coordinator. I have worked with many of our Kuumba families during our after school program and I am looking forward to working with many more families this summer.  

I am looking forward to collaborating with Mr. Ken Brown this year to offer our 21st CCLC Summer Enrichment Program once again.  This program is open for all students entering grades K through 8.  We strongly encourage all families to consider sending your child to our arts integrated summer enrichment program to help prepare them for the upcoming grade level. The six-week program will begin on June 24th and end on August 2nd.

Summer Enrichment will offer wonderful opportunities to inspire curiosity through hands-on, curriculum-aligned learning in ELA and Math. It also provides a unique opportunity to cultivate confidence and motivation that students need to become life-long learners. 

The academic morning consists of 3 hours of ELA and MATH instruction designed to prepare your child for critical content standards in the upcoming grade level. The afternoon program will include opportunities for arts, technology, arts and hands- on learning experiences.  All students will be provided a nutritious breakfast and lunch. Transportation is available for academic morning and full day students. 

Our theme this summer is: A School with a HEART. 

We have academic mornings on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. from 9-12:00 PM.

For students who are here for Academic Morning and Arts in the Afternoons from 9-3:30pm, we are here Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (Trip Day), Thursday, and Friday.

We offer several enrollment options for summer:

Before School from 7:30-9:00 AM/spaces are limited
All morning students will receive breakfast between 8:45-9:00 AM
Academic Morning (ELA and Math): 9:00 AM-12:00 AM
All full day students receive lunch
Arts in the Afternoon: 12:00-3:30 PM
After School: 3:30-5:30 PM/spaces are limited

Our registration form has all of the important information that requires signatures, including permission for full day students for trips and bus registration. The stops for our buses may be different from the ones we have during the school year, so pick the one that is closest.
